A new film and television studio is set to be built in Zamdela, which is aimed at producing new talent in the country, this was revealed by Eugene Mthetwa from Top Crew, during a talent search which was held at Thembalethu in Zamdela.
“We came to Zamdela as Top Crew to start a film and television studio and this studio is for the whole province. We want to address issues which insist that everything is happening in Bloemfontein. Now this studio will bring young people to Sasolburg and make their mark from this town,” said Mthetwa.
Fanyane Nhlapo, who is the facilitator for the talent search said “we are aware that within the Free State we don’t have a film and television studio which assists young people with developing their skills.” According to Nhlapo the new film and television studio will help young people to showcase their talent without travelling to Gauteng. “This is an opportunity for the Free State people to utilise this studio for their own benefit,” Nhlapo said.
On the other hand, the Executive Mayor of Metsimaholo, Cllr. Brutus Mahlaku said the partnership between the municipality and Top Crew will benefit the young people by bringing solutions to social ills.
“This studio will help our young people to escape from drug abuse and it will help them to build their future by creating jobs and to further develop their talent,” Mayor Mahlaku said.
The first citizen of Metsimaholo was adamant that the new television stars will come out of the Free State province, particularly in Metsimaholo.
